Hi Paul Kim! Is this your first time in London?
Paul: “I’ve been here before, when I was really little. I don’t remember anything. I don’t remember if I was in London or somewhere around London. I can’t remember it, so I will say that this is my first official time.”
So how do you expect it to be different performing in front of a British audience compared to an audience at home?
Paul: “Actually I didn’t know what to expect because these days thankfully the Korean audience, they do sing along and they do know my songs. But here in London I’m not sure if they know me or they know my songs so maybe I should sing harder so they can actually listen to what I'm singing.”
What would be your dream British collaboration?
Paul: “Adele.”
That’s a good one! What song would you want to sing?
Paul: “‘Easy On Me!’ I listened to that song so many times, that is probably my favourite one from Adele so far.”
Is there anything in particular you want to do in London while you’re here?
Paul: “All I wanna do is sit down and just get wasted. I wanna wait until it gets really dark and then in front of the… Tower Bridge is it? I just wanna go to any bars or pubs and just get wasted.”
That’s a very British answer.
It was obviously quite a long journey from Korea all the way here - do you have a TMI about your journey?
Paul: “It was 14 hours, it’s a long time. I didnt sleep the day before I actually flew off, so I was so tired on the plane. But I was so hungry at the same time, so I was sleeping and eating at the same time.”
Was that a tactic, not sleeping, so you could sleep on the plane?
Paul: “Sort of… actually not? I was just super busy, I didn’t pack until the last minute so I was packing in the morning and I thought ‘maybe I should just stay awake so I can sleep on the plane’.”
Do you have a message for your fans and our readers?
Paul: “Hi guys! This is Paul from Korea. Hopefully some of you may know and some of you may not know me, but I do sing, I do write songs too. Hopefully you guys listen to my songs, they’re really soothing, easy to listen to, romantic, so please check it out and hopefully I’ll get to see you face-to-face and sing in front of you someday! Thank you!”
