BLACKPINK Set For Historic Wembley Stadium
BLINKs, get ready! BLACKPINK, one of the biggest K-pop acts in the world, have officially announced their 2025 World Tour, marking a monumental return to the stage. The tour includes a highly anticipated performance at London's iconic Wembley Stadium on Friday, 15 August 2025. This event will make BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group to headline at Wembley.
Tickets for the London concert are set to go on sale on Thursday, 27 February at 11am. Given BLACKPINK's massive global following, demand is expected to be exceptionally high. Wembley Stadium, with its 90,000-seat capacity, stands as one of the world's most prestigious venues. It has hosted legendary performances by artists such as Queen, Beyoncé, The Rolling Stones, and Adele. BLACKPINK's upcoming show at this venue underscores their significant impact on the global music scene and highlights the increasing prominence of K-pop in Western markets. BTS previously made history as the first K-pop group to headline Wembley with their sold-out shows in 2019, while PSY performed at Wembley Stadium as part of Capital's Summertime Ball in 2013, marking the earliest K-pop performance at the iconic venue.
Since their debut in 2016 under YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK—comprising members Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—has consistently broken records and redefined the global reach of K-pop. They made history as the first K-pop girl group to perform at Coachella in 2019, and their music videos have garnered billions of views on YouTube.
Each member of BLACKPINK has pursued highly successful solo projects in the past months:
Jisoo: Released her debut solo EP, Amortage, on 14 February 2025. The EP features four tracks, including the lead single "Earthquake," and showcases Jisoo's versatility as an artist.
Jennie: Set to release her highly anticipated solo album, Ruby, on 7 March 2025. The album includes 15 tracks, with notable collaborations featuring artists such as Dua Lipa, Doechii, Childish Gambino, and Kali Uchis.
Rosé: Achieved a massive hit with the single "APT.," co-written with Bruno Mars. The song, part of her solo album rosie, reflects her personal growth and musical journey. "APT." debuted at number four on the UK Singles Chart and later peaked at number two, making Rosé the highest-charting female K-pop solo artist in UK chart history.
Lisa: Set to release her debut solo album, Alter Ego, on 28 February 2025. The album will feature five distinct personas. She has also collaborated with Raye and Doja Cat on the single "Born Again" and is expanding her career into acting with a role in the third season of HBO's The White Lotus, portraying a character named Mook.
As anticipation builds, this tour is poised to be a landmark event, offering fans an opportunity to experience the evolution of BLACKPINK's music and stage presence. Stay tuned for more updates on ticket sales and tour details.
